Judgment in favor of NOKIA against HTC for violated patent rightsThe Mannheim court ruled a judgment in favor of NOKIA, stating that HTC violates their patent rights, related to technology that helps save battery life of mobile phones. The court finds that there is an infringement over German part of Nokia’s European patent.
HTC declared it will appeal the judgment as it thinks the patent is not valid. According to HTC the decision of the court can’t be considered as a big “win” for NOKIA because that technology applies only for mobiles that are no longer imported into Germany and the newer HTC models do not use the controversial technology. The lawsuits between the two companies continue in England and Germany and HTC still hope to invalidate the NOKIA patents.
